In a remarkable display of utterly routine aviation, a Southwest flight completed its journey from Baltimore/Washington International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport Saturday afternoon without incident, excitement, or really any reason for alarm.
Flight WN3463, a Boeing 737-8H4, departed BWI at 10:30 a.m., ten minutes behind its scheduled 10:20 a.m. departure, and touched down at LAX at 12:53 p.m., slightly ahead of its scheduled 1:15 p.m. arrival. The 5 hour and 23 minute flight featured all the usual in-flight activities: passengers sitting in their seats, occasional beverage service, and the standard reminder announcements to keep seatbelts fastened.
Sources say that crew members carried out routine duties flawlessly. Safety demonstrations were performed exactly as written in the manual, tray tables were stowed without issue, and overhead bins remained securely closed throughout the flight. In-flight entertainment functioned reliably, and not a single passenger reported experiencing any sort of unusual excitement.
Upon arrival, passengers disembarked in without incident, collecting their luggage promptly at the gate. Airport staff confirmed that the jet bridge operated as intended, and all ground services proceeded without complication. Aviation experts have hailed the flight as a “masterclass in uneventful air travel,” proving once again that airplanes can, in fact, operate exactly as intended.
